The term microwedding has been thrown around these days and so are you wondering what is actually considered a microwedding? An elopement near or far, an intimate wedding with a guestlist anywhere from 2 to 50 people, or even a city hall wedding! So is this something that you and your partner want to do? There are definitely more than a few advantages for having a microwedding and it may be something you’d consider even after the pandemic is over. Here are a few reasons to consider a microwedding!

It is surely a different and crazy time we are living in! The Covid-19 Pandemic has affected all ends of the world. To prevent the virus from spreading gatherings were severely cut back and initially limited to 250 people, then to 50 people, to 10 people and now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) has further limited indoor and outdoor non-essential gathering to 2 people. Now you can imagine how this has impacted events, weddings and couples all over the globe and maybe you’re even one of them. We’ve all been sitting in our homes for 2 whole months now, itching to get out but a pause in events doesn’t means you have to stop wedding planning. Instead keep dreaming and look towards the brighter future when you can celebrate YOU again!

In Ontario, once the month of October hits, the change of colours of leaves sweeps across the whole province. Fall foliage is a sight to see and this range of red, orange, yellow, green and brown is what inspired our styled shoot. Earth tones and nature were brought indoors to enhance the already magical Hacienda Sarria, a spanish villa that was once an old sugar beet mill back in the 1900’s.

Dahee and Chris’s wedding took place at one of Toronto’s newly built venues Eglinton West Gallery sister of York Mills Gallery. With the venue just opening in February, the couple had set their wedding date for April. Not only were they excited to be one of the first couples to get married there but I was eager myself to work at the brand new EWG. The couple planned their wedding within a matter of 6 months.

The snowy Canadian winter has us longing for bright flowers to bloom, song birds to chirp, and the feeling of warm sunlight on our faces. With daylight savings approaching this weekend, I’d say we are one step closer to welcoming spring!
