Best Of NYBFW Fall 2020

I’ll admit, I’m a tad late on this Bridal Fashion Week update but you bet your girl tuned in to watch the Live runway shows and I kept note of all my favourites. So here I am, sharing with you the top looks in my opinion (These are going to be worth bookmarking)! These runway looks will really have you thinking whether you want a statement piece or a classic gown. Let’s take a look and maybe you’ll leave with a favourite bridal designer or two.

MONIQUE L’HUILLIER

Monique L’Huillier gives us texture, volume, prints, and embroidery in this season’s collection “Secret Garden”. This season the photos were taken in a Grand Italian Villa, each gown detailed with exaggerated accents. Lhuiller’s love for flowers are shown through the prints and textures in both her gowns as well as her veils. “It’s about joy and romance, and I wanted to bring it to a storybook level,” she said.

ZAC POSEN FOR WHITE ONE

Well known American designer Zac Posen debuted his bridal collection alongside Barcelona based label White One. This collaboration delivers minimalistic as well as glamour, and the best part is the price tag! These dresses are affordable and Posen guarantees women to be feeling like a fashionable princess on their wedding day. Some details you’ll find are complete crepe look, layers of chiffon, body hugging fit and full princess ballgowns. These looks are to attract the millennial bride. Finally a mix of high-fashion designs combined with high-quality bridal fit at an affordable prince range. Designs range from $1200 to $4000.

From Left to Right

“Ace” – This is an illusion gown that reminds me of a blooming flower. The sheer embroidered sleeve embellished with flowers transports you in a blooming garden. — Zac Posen

“Anna” –This dress is simplicity at its best, the corset gives you the perfect posture that infuses confidence while the high low skirt creates a surprising moment and a floating sensation while she walks down the aisle. — Zac Posen

“Coco” –This full skirt dress, is a corseted ball gown princess moment. The structure of the corset gives you perfect posture and the rich taffeta fabric crisps with each step, commanding all eyes on the bride as she walks down the aisle. — Zac Posen

“Heidi” – This dress is a princess moment inspired by one of my MET dresses. It is the ultimate ball gown. The heart shaped neckline and lines help elongate the bust and the structural elements highlight the female figure. — Zac Posen

“Noemi” – The layered off the shoulder and form fitting shape creates a flirty feel to the dress. This brings together both a modern and romantic quality to a bride’s special day. It reminds me of a flower petal cascading down. — Zac Posen

“Tallulah” –This Asymmetrical tulle moment reminds me of being in a cloud floating through the garden which is enhanced by the touch of blush tones throughout the gown. — Zac Posen

OSCAR DE LA RENTA

Designers Fernando and Laura Kim have created a collection that doesn’t need the label of “Bridal” Rather all their dresses can be easily picked up for a black-tie gala, cocktail party or vacation with a simple change of colour. The last two looks features strapless bustiers, a trend seen through many of the Fall 2020 shows.

RIME ARODAKY

Rime Arodaky creates effortless silhouettes with laced details, statement sleeves and trains. Keeping all designs extremely feminine, you’’ll see she even plays with her own variation of a sexy slip dress. Modern touches like open backs, illusion v-neck, 3D tulle embroidery and cowl necklines are seen throughout the collection.

GALA BY GALIA LAHAV

COLLECTION NO.IX – Designers Galia Lahav and Sharon Sever interprets the magic, freedom and emotion of the sea into this collection.
