Best of NYBFW Fall ’19

New York Bridal Fashion Week occurs only twice a year and this October we saw top designers showcase their creations for Fall 2019. Maybe you’ve tried on your fair share of gowns and just haven’t quite found the perfect one yet or you’re just casually scrolling and perhaps adding to a favorites file. It never hurts to dream a little……and be prepared for what the future holds of course. I’ve followed many runway shows in the past but the exquisite details this season made it quite hard for me to choose favorites! So much glitter! So much tulle! So many ruffles! And of course so much elaborate lace details! All of which we can’t get enough of.

Here are some repeating trends we saw. Don’t forget to scroll down for the best veils this season (some would say they’re just as extravagant as the dresses).

Billowy Sleeves

Fitted long sleeves are not the only sleeve we see now. Many of these wedding dresses have detachable poet sleeves, perfect for a dramatic entrance yet practical for eating dinner & dancing.

Details are Maximized

There was no shortage of bodices covered in 3D flowers, oversized accents and mile-long trains.

Less is more

The minimalist aesthetics remains. No doubt we see influence from Meghan Markle’s wedding gown from this past year. Mimiking her custom made Givenchy, boatneck off-the-shoulder neckline, clean fit and fabric makes for a timeless and elegant look.

Deep V Necklines

Inbal Dror’s “Capri” collection was inspired by the ocean. The lightness of the gowns and relaxed flow truly embodied the movement of seaside waves. This collection showing future brides they can show more with a plunging neckline.

2 Piece Crop

Perfect for the playful bride who wants an unconventional wedding dress. This trend has been huge for years in the fashion industry yet is still considered pretty new in the bridal world. Showing midriff does not mean scandalous, and these looks below show you how it looks when it’s done right.

VEILS

Reem Acra is on a league of her own. Considered one of the most lavish bridal designer, you’ll see her creations in grand scales and that doesn’t stop at the gowns. These veils are what make the greatest impact and are key to bringing the dress come to life. Here are the magical looks from “The Celebration Collection”. (Side Note: Anything that takes place in the New York Public Library is magical already).
